Common 4.25.26 Lineup

Dark Arps
Dark Arps
Dark Arps has developed a unique and improvised approach to electronic music performance using hardware sequencers, modular synthesizers and effects - no laptop, software or pre-programmed content of any kind is used. A carefully-designed array of analog equipment enables the free generation of ideas in the heat of the moment, with crucial controls ergonomically placed and easily accessible by hand. With intimate knowledge and expert command of the equipment, a methodology of muscle memory and instinct has emerged, rendering the time-consuming preparation once necessary before a gig entirely obsolete. Eschewing the stage in favour of the dancefloor, he creates a truly intimate experience by placing his rig among the audience, inviting them to gather round and witness the work up-close. Charging head-first into the unknown, crafting something fresh and unique with each and every show, Dark Arps delivers an elite take on live electronic music.
Von Fey
Von Fey
Von Fey will bring a hybrid live set, blending original productions with real-time performance elements. Using Ableton, controllers, and live modulation, she shapes a dynamic flow of hypnotic techno, textured atmospheres, and driving rhythms. Moving between forest-floor depth and cosmic intensity, her sound unfolds through immersive layers and evolving tension. Expect a journey that builds, releases, and keeps the dancefloor moving.

Sleepy
Sleepy
Sleepy, the Salish Sea's living legacy of house and techno, brings over three decades of mastery to the decks. His journey began in the mid 90s when him and his lifelong friend Jay Zoney (Eternal Drive Recordings) were introduced to a vibrant warehouse collective. Embracing this global movement, Sleepy quickly made a name for himself with his mesmerizing blend of house and techno, entrancing audiences with driving percussion and powerful basslines.

As a trailblazer, Sleepy co-founded the legendary 25-year annual Carrington Bay Gathering, a pivotal event in Vancouver Island's underground electronic music culture. Although the gatherings have retired, his leadership has been essential in sustaining the dynamic scene, earning him the title of 'Godfather'.

Sleepy is renowned for mastering live remixing using an advanced 4-deck setup, creating unique auditory experiences with every performance. He has graced high-profile festivals like Shambhala, Electric Love, Atmosphere, Cumberland Wild, and the Pachena Bay Music Festival, as well as intimate venues alongside local legends and international techno icons - Raiz (Droid Behavior), Gary Beck (Bek Audio), and Chris Liebing (CLR).

Beyond performing, Sleepy fosters the music community through his equipment rental company, Gemini Rentals, providing emerging artists access to top-tier gear. His dedication to innovation, community building, and sustainable practices continues to elevate the electronic music experience.

Our Policies

At Common, we believe that clear policies empower people to come forward when they need help. Every person who walks through our doors deserves to feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves. These policies exist to protect that experience for everyone.

01
Respect & Inclusion

Zero tolerance for bigotry of any kind. This means no harassment, sexism, racism, homophobia, or transphobia, in words, actions, or attitude. Keep things respectful. We are all here for the music and for each other.

02
Consent

Consent is mandatory. This is a universal principle we uphold inside and outside our spaces. You do not touch others without their consent. A person's choice of dress, movement, or self-expression is never an invitation for non-consensual contact. Any form of harassment, leering, unwanted comments, or touching will be addressed immediately. Any violation of this rule will not be tolerated and will result in a lifetime ban from Common events.

03
Your Safety

Our team is here to support you, do not hesitate to reach out. We take the safety of our staff and patrons very seriously, and we will always act on concerns brought to our attention.

04
Phones & Filming

We strongly encourage you to keep your phone out of your hands. Please, no filming on the dance floor. We will record audio for sets so you don't have to. Respect the privacy of the dance floor.
